It’s a Friday night, our family is tired after a long week. But we’d been excited to experience our first Monster Jam show at the Hampton Coliseum. (Thanks to Feld Entertainment for the tickets)
We suddenly heard engines revving and caught glimpses of the mountainous tires as we walked a couple of floors up to our seats. We all were looking at each other with smiles and suddenly everyone seemed energized to get to our seats and check this show out!
MONSTER JAM SHOW
This is Monster Jam: excitement and anticipation builds as you wait to see def defying tricks performed by these enormous trucks on even bigger wheels.
What is the best age for Monster Jam
We saw a lot of dads with toddler sons on their laps, moms with their kids in tow for a family night out and grandparents treating their Monster Truck-loving grandkids.
Our three-year-old son is a Monster Truck connoisseur. He was sitting in my lap but my husband said his jaw dropped when he saw Scooby-Doo approach the center ramp and jump vertically into the air. Then he smiled real big.
Monster Jam fever has set in. When the Dragon truck did a similar trick AND breathed fire immediately after, my son became a true fan.
All the trucks are really fun and easily identifiable for kids with names like Raminator and Monster Mutt. There were lap races too before the stunt rounds.
I think Monster Jam has one three-year-old boy as a fan for life.
TIPS FOR WHEN GOING TO MONSTER JAM
BRING EAR PROTECTION
Lastly, I was so grateful my husband brought ear protection for everyone- be sure to do so if you go!
