I was provided with tickets in exchange for this review about Kings Dominion Water Park two parks for the price of one, Soak City Kings Dominion. All opinions are 100% my own.
Summers are hot in Virginia and spending a day at an amusement park is not only tiring but steamy. Many amusement parks have water rides to cool off but on hot days, those can be the longest lines at the park. Did you know that Kings Dominion has a water park inside their park?
Soak City Kings Dominion Water Park
This was our first time experiencing Soak City and it was a gorgeous day, about 80 degrees. After walking around the park for two hours, we headed to Soak City when it opened. I was totally impressed with the number of chairs and covered areas where you can get out of the sun.
How Big Is Kings Dominion Water Park
The park is deceivingly large. When you walk in you do not realize there are actually three sections that you need to walk to. You can easily get settled in the front section and not realize you need to walk under the tunnel to find many more water areas.
The kids loved the slides and the lines were not that crazy when we arrived at noon when it opened. They especially liked Hurricane Heights, a 65-foot tall slide complex features three thrilling new attractions.
I personally enjoyed the lazy river, that was just my speed.you don’t want to carry towels and suits all day, I had the kids wear their suits, boys as shorts and the girls under their clothes. It was an easy transition to the park and because it was so warm outside, they dried fairly quickly. Just be sure you have enough sunscreen.
There are areas for all different ages and thrill-seekers. Plenty of life jackets are free and available for younger children or even adults that are not comfortable in the water.
It is one of the few water parks that you can also ride roller coasters for the same price.
If you are thinking of heading to an amusement park in Virginia, consider Kings Dominion for both the water park and the roller coasters.?
